They did!

Helen, do you still have the kits in stock? I noticed it looks like they're in stock on the product page, but in the cart it has a note saying they're in route to the warehouse.

Thanks!

Funny thing:
I canceled my B&H order this morning at 11:32am, this afternoon around 2pm ..... I get a pending charge on my card from B&H .....

karma?

People seriously need to chill the f out. Maybe listen to a little Enya or something, to calm to nerves. Today was the reported release day, meaning processing should have started today for those initial orders. You people have no regard for processing or handling time, you just expect it to get shipped the second it hits their warehouse. If you wanted it today, you could have gambled on picking one up at your local camera store. Otherwise just wait for it to be shipped to you. Call them if you want to find out the status, but there is no reason for them to handle this any different than any other product order. Beggars can't be choosers. I blame the Internet for people's complete lack of patience. If you sold off a body to fund this, that's your own fault. If you're honestly a professional then you wouldn't have been foolish enough to sell off all your cameras if you have shoots scheduled, so you should still be capable of taking quality photos. Everyone will live, I promise you.

I want it NOW!!!!!

2 possibilities; either the guys simply didn't couldn't physically get it onto the trailer in time (I heard of 2 of those today), and it is coming out today - or UPS did get it yesterday but missed scanning it at the hub.

Thank you Helen!
As long as it's in the box with my address on it I am a happy camper! :D

I switched because I was in the position of not getting the camera until late April or early May (still may be for all I know)...and I want it now. I also already said I had no ill feelings either way. It's my choice to shop where I wish.

I still know, for whatever reasons that I don't even care about, that B&H came out on the short end of the stick on this. I also know their customer service people were less than friendly. Tough luck for B&H.

I changed my order to Adorama and threw B&H to the CURB...because I can.

PS. my grip is still ordered with B&H...unless they don't ship it by tomorrow! ;)

Ah ha! Kudos to your team then! And I apologize, but I didn't order from you guys

In fact I didn't order from B&H or Amazon either. I ordered from a non-NY retailer to save on taxes. My camera hasn't even shipped yet and I don't really mind.

Maybe if Canon would start packaging the kit with a lens that either A. not almost everyone already has, or B. would be more geared towards someone who would buy this camera (i.e. an f/2.8 L) then it would relieve some of the pressure on the body-only sales. I think the 24-105L is a great lens, but when you include it constantly in the kit the market gets flooded with them and nobody has a reason to purchase the kit later.

Be happy its not 28-135 non-L :-P. But yeah if it was 24-70 II kit with same $400 discount, I'd give it much more thought.

I don't think it would be smart to kit a prime with it. Not flexible enough. Maybe the 24-70 f2.8?

I just called Norman Camera. They have a couple body only and kits available.
I have one body only overnight-ed to me, will have it tomorrow.

I just bought a body-only from Norman....went ground as I couldn't justify the overnight cost.

should i change my mind? ;)

I ordered my Body only from Adorama on 3/9. My account online says Pending still but when I called the 800 number and typed in my order number, it says it was packed today and provided me a shipping number! Hoping I get the official shipped notice today!

On second thought even with $400 it'll be $1900 for 24-70 II. I think I'd pass on that, for that kind of money it's gotta have IS on it.
