sorry its not perfection for you, it was just turn to dark corner of room, fire and upload, no set up, no tripod, mirror lock, planned composition, it's sooc - life's not fair sometimes I guess. I'm sure there'll be plenty more...

Does the combo work well with the 85's slow AF ? Hoping the Mark III can help it a bit!

I'm just thrilled it came in on the day Henry's said it would. Considering I didnt pre-order it on the 2nd (like everyone else, lol - I actually went last week and put a pre order down) Im surprised Im getting one from the first shipment

It works great, it doesn't focus any faster, but it focuses spot on ! On my 5D2, it would focus hunt ... and hunt .... and hunt .... and hunt .... and then I'd switch to MF lol. Especially in low light.
I tried it in low light on the 5D3 (ISO 25600, f/1.2, 1/15 .... low light in my book) and it focused right away !!!

One thing I have noticed. I can take a shot and look on the back LCD display and think it is soft. When I get it on my PC it is acceptably sharp. I think the camera processing similar to DPP that is embedded in the RAW is screwing with me.

Other than the zoom screw up, I am really liking this camera. Very happy I bought it.

I didn't even pre-order. I got a tip off from a member here and i called the store and luckily, they had one body and one kit available. So i went ahead and bought the body only instead of waiting for the D800 to be released. I think i just got lucky .

Not about me, just telling ya what I think. Don't be so sensitive. If your going to post images for a new camera body, they should be a good exposure otherwise it really doesn't show much.

All had extensive cropping.

Got a call from Henry's today! My 5D III is in and can be picked up anytime so excited.

Hi,

I am also in Ottawa and just picked mine up from Henrys as well!!

I just took about a hundred various shots in my backyard, house, etc... The detail on the 5D3 is just as good as the 5D2 was, if not better. Def no reduced IQ, and I shot the 5D2 for close to a year.

RAW noise looks really good in CS5... Very clean, grainy noise. No weird blotches or anything. Can't wait for a LR4 to have the ability.

In camera HDR is awesome.

Build is really, really good.

AF was able to lock on a target in a dark closet that I could not make out ANY detail through the viewfinder... It was that dark. Locked on and perfectly sharp.

I have NO problem using up to ISO 25,600, it looks really good. I would even use 51,200 if I needed to... But 102,400 is really terrible and avoid at all costs.

Make sure to turn off ALL in camera NR for best results.

FPS does not slow down for me until the buffer fills up... 13 pictures are 6FPS constantly until it slows down with a 400x CF card.

No word on servo yet, my dogs are not cooperating today... Too hot for my husky outside.

Loving this camera so far...
