Which CF Card for the 5D Mk III??

Hi,

I just got the camera and would like to know which card would be best for the CF slot.

I currently have a SanDisk 32 GB Extreme (60 MB/s 400x). Is that good enough or is there a better/faster card worth getting? Also, what would be best for the SD slot?

those are the exact same cards I am using, great cards. I would just stick with those if you already have them

60 mbs/400x cards are what I use for sports shooting and I've never had a hiccup yet. I use both Sandisk and Lexar Professional. Either card is plenty fast in any camera.

I saw a guy on another forum was getting quite a bit faster speeds with a 90mb/s Sandisk card. It appears faster cards do see a speed increase. I'd like to see a udma 6 vs 7 comparison or full rundown like Galbraith use to do...

8 mb probably enough for couple small jpgs before you ran out of space

I got 2 16GB Sandisk 60MB/s ones. I am able to shoot 32 continuous with full RAW.

I use a 32GB 90mb/s and 32GB 60mb/s Both Sandisk. and 1 SD 95mb/s 32 GB Sandisk

I've got a pair of Sandisk Exteme Pros for my 5D3 (SD 95MB/s and CF 90MB/s).

With that said, I've shot plenty sports with a 400x Transcend without any issues (jpeg).

It can fit a few hundred full raws. It's enough for me, I keep several 8mb'ers close by and swap. just trying not to lose a ton of pics should something fail!

lol. honestly, it's just justification for not ordering bigger ones. i'm sure you know that already.:o

i'd have to buy a 64gb card. the 8's just turn up, you know, in the couch, jacket pockets at the start of winter, under the car seats, everywhere!
