A bit different for the first round of the Australian Rally Championship, an event held at Calder Park, stages run on the national circuit, the NASCAR style dome and dirt/mud stages often, all run over the one stage.

Honda factory backed S2000 spec Jazz.

There was a fair bit of rain on the Saturday. This left the stages out in the carpark a little damp and muddy

It didn't end well on the Sunday afternoon, it ran wide through a chicane and put its rears into the grass, causing it to spin around, heading backwards toward a concrete barrier. Results below.

During the ARC downtime there was a drift demo out in the thunderdome.

Great pics. Heard it was like a glorified khanacross.

With Bates car wasn't it a freshly built car, Not a restore.

It was, most of the stages were run several times with a change in direction, still though plenty on that weekend, just a shame the crowds were down due to the rain.
Re Neil's car; thanks updated.

Nice set of pics, looks like the event was hastily thrown together after the rain washed out some stages.

There is footage (outside and Incar) of Ivan Thompson's massive prang on YouTube - I'm glad the crew only had minor injuries.

Looking forward to Rd2 next weekend !
