Any recommendations on an inexpensive across the chest strap? One that can actually fit a full size adult male... translation: longer than the stock canon strap

Do you want a sling where the strap stays in place and the camera slides along it? There's Black Rapid, OpTech and some others. OpTech's is only $25. I have it and it works pretty well. Another to look at is the Luma Cinch. It attaches to two points on the camera like a regular strap but it can shorten as needed on the fly and is meant to be worn across your body.

Is that CPS strap I see pop up in the for sale board any longer than the originals on the 5d2 or 40d?

OpTech sling works for me and I'm happy to recommend them. I hang a 5D Mk II with a 70-200 f2.8 Mk II from ONE of the clips...it hangs better from one clip. I'm 100% happy with them.

Add another Op/Tech utility sling user to the pile... Kinda hard to beat a ~$20 strap that is comfortable even when hanging a 100-400 all day... Now the question is: Does 6'4/240 count as a big guy? :P

Thanks for the recommendations. I just ordered the op/tech sling (external link) hopefully it works out for me. Once it's delivered I'll come back here and post a review.

^^+1 to that. I have the BlackRapid as well, but prefer my Luma Cinch over it now.
