All were taken with a 1d classic, Sigma 70-200mm 2.8, Canon 5802 EX flash.

SS was 1/250th and iso was 400. The flash was on camera for the photos.

Wrestling is over, on to soccer, Let me know what you think of these.

Thanks

Scott

Nice work, glad they let you use a strobe. If you had to go over ISO 800, it would have started to get a little muddy.

Soccer should be fun, the camera loves sunlight and ISO 200.

Picked mine up for $250 2 days ago with 78xxx clicks!! So far, I'm loving the camera. For 4MP, the detail it resolves is unreal.

However, I have this slight bar problem at the top of every image... I don't think it's noise banding.

How are you all viewing your TIF RAW files from the 1D Classic?

I'm using Windows 7, latest updates, Microsoft's support for raw files and everything, but I can't view the TIF files in explorer...

It's kind of annoying because I rely on the thumbnails to pick out the best photos from the day I want to review right away.

rawtherapee or rawstudio are pretty good free, open source programs that will work on 7 and allow you to view and edit TIFFs.

Any free codec/plugin that can allow Windows 7 to view the 1Dc TIF files in the explorer?

Thanks for the free programs heads up. I would still like to view them in explorer though.
FastPictureViewer is awesome, as it integrates itself into Windows explorer, but it's not free...

Time I posted a couple ,Simba My daugthers new puppy taken with an EF 100 f2 @f3.5 with EX550 speedlite.
And the veg in the corner of my kitchen taken in a moment of bordom testing a EF 28-135is I had recently bought second hand with mold on the lenses. Took me over six hours to strip ,clean and reassemble and now I have two off these so the older of the two is now on my daughters EOS 450D and I will keep this one as it is only 3 years old. Of all my lenses the 28-135 is the least sharp but it is a really nice length on a 1.3 crop and the 'is ' is a bonus.
The veg pic I used a tripod 28-135 @ f8 ,EX550 speedlite .

I've never seen that kind of bar before. You say it's like that on every single image, regardless of lighting, ISO or lens?

The 1D tends to noise band, especially if you push the exposure, but that's not banding. It would be apparent across the entire image.

I'd suspect a sensor fault, unfortunately. You got it for roughly half of what I paid, and mine was near 160k clicks. I'd say use it and enjoy it, and maybe consider compositions that allow you to crop out that very top part.

Sorry I haven't reinstalled windows since mine crashed about a year ago. Been an avid Linux user since then. And even when I do use windows I avoid most of the native M$ programs like the plague. When you say "the explorer" are you referring to internet explorer or the media player?

A couple of birds in trees...
It was hard to lock focus on these guys, since the branches were obviously in the way, along with the birdies movement.
Just another day for the 1D Classic.:D
