Got the Leica-R to EF adapter today. Wanted to make sure it actually worked properly. Everything seems to be functioning as it should. Here's a quick shot of my (messy) dresser and the 100% crop of the receipt. This was with the Summicron-R 50mm f2. Seems pretty dang sharp wide open at f2.

Is anyone shooting with a Zeiss 85 1.4? I'm interested in picking one up soon but what's the difference between the old contax version and the newer ZE version besides having electronic focus confirm?

So far the price i've seen for a contax version is about 700-800 whereas a new ZE version will be 1200.

would like some opinions!

ZE will also have auto aperture.

A little more than a year ago, there was an C/Y Z 85/1.4 at Adorama for $400 ("Excellent" condition). I went in the next morning to pick it up. It was long gone, of course.

To take a guess, looks more like the contax zeiss which is the older vintage ones.
