man, i knew that was going to happen. I really wanted to order through B&H because of the extended warranty coverage they offer. Maybe these shops around here may offer something comparable. Back to square one...

Pre ordering tonight on B&H. Hopefully shipping by next week? What are your thoughts on that?

Not so hopeful- especially with their closing for the holiday coming up. I canceled my B&H March 2 preorder and bought from Crutchfield- it will be delivered tomorrow. They are supposed to be getting more in shortly as well.

Also, the guys from www.profeel.com (external link) have been used by many here with good result lately. I had inquired with them earlier and they just emailed me today to say they are getting in more bodies and kits end of this week if I want to get an order in so maybe try them. Probably better off avoiding B&H at this point as they just don't seem to be getting sufficient cameras in to meet their orders and can't really tell you where you stand.

Crutchfield shipped mine today. With the $150 gift card I get for ordering from them, I'll most likely be ordering a 2nd 5d3 from them and doubling it. Heck, if they start stocking 600ex-rt's, I'll probably buy a few of them from there as well to capitalize on the reward. Might get a "free" ps3 out of it :).

Might go with Crutchfield as they offer a 3 year extended warranty as well.
Eagerly awaiting the restock.

I am so frustrated with B&H. I can get no information from them. I have spent over $50k with them over the years. I will not be doing business with them again after this experience with the 5DIII. It is irresponsible to hide behind the "we don't know when more are coming" BS when other retailers can tell me exactly when they are getting cameras this week.

Did you see this thread on canonrumors?

It looks hopeless for those not high on the list.

Well once you get your mind, you might think about picking up a 5d3. They truly are amazing.
