Does flash bounced from a mirror... trigger optical slaves?
How about IR?

I tried to google it but can't find an answer, or I just don't know how to word it for search. lol

Unless...That mirror has a special light absorbing coating and then it wouldn't be less of a mirror.

Flash bounced off walls and ceilings indoors will trigger an optical slave. Never tried a mirror, but must work.

I've been using the pop-up flash on my 60D to trigger two 430EX and 430EX II for years. ETTL and triggering work perfectly indoors around corners with no line of sight due to reflections from walls, etc. And yes, you can use a mirror to go around corners if you want to.
Your 7D has the same wireless system and should work identically.

How about outdoors with direct line of sight to the mirror, no shade, sun at full blast noontime?

Why not just get cheap triggers? Unless you are trying to shoot in ETTL

If the flash shows up in the mirror in your shot, it will screw up your ETTL metering though.
