Got out at lunch and snapped this one with 24-105. On one of the front windows there is actually a hand cut snowflake that is perfectly sharp at 100%. Somehow the resizing here for web isn't doing it justice though-looks kind of soft:

Here is a 100% crop of snowflake and stonework

That is certainly encouraging. Looks like Canon FINALLY got things right. ;)

When you gonna do a review? :p

I wonder if they are still doing a release this week or they meant Release Candidate release not a full one. Hopefully it fixes the aweful speed issues. Will know soon.

+1. I'm running a pretty fast system myself and sometimes LR4 would bog out on me :/.

I'll wait for the normal release I guess, I am in no rush. BUT! For anyone trying it, how do the 5D3 files look? Any better than DPP? I was looking at high ISO comparisons and the 5D3 only has about a 1 stop advantage over the 5D2, I I was hoping for a bit more, but maybe newer better processing will fix that?

Nice one doc!.

Thanks. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to test my 300mm f2.8 + 2x extender (verson III) tomorrow.

Fricks, I think you're missing the point. The theory is that the 5D3 is simply incapable of capturing the reflection of light from a bird's eye! ;)

SilversurferC6 - Hey, you've got a 5D3 now - why don't you do it yourself? :)

LOL, DSTEVE, I intend to once I can find the ducks. We have a major duck pond in our neighborhood so stay tuned....

Just taken ISO 10,000 F20 and 1/80

I imagine you are going to like it. I tried my 300 f/2.8 last night with my version II 2x extender and it really locked focus very fast. Didn't study the image closely, but I think the image quality/contrast seemed better than it had on the 5D as well. I don't use the 2x much with my 7D or 5D but am thinking I am going to give it a thorough second chance with the 5D III.
