Those shots bring back memories of Red Flags from 1987-1990 for me (except the F-22 wasn't around yet). Nice set.

thanks guys!

Whats the group opinion on #2's crop/aspect ratio/composition? I really wanted the full exhaust plume in there, but at standard aspect ratio, that didn't leave much frame for the aggressor to move into - decidedly against the "rules" - and left me with cars at the bottom of the frame. I'm not a huge fan of a non standard aspect ratio, but this one might lend to it. Thoughts?

Try shooting a little loose then cropping the photo to the composition you want. Normally I would suggest shoot tight with the composition you want then crop tighter but for a jet at an air show it might be a little difficult with the sudden movements and maneuvers.

Awesome set!! The F-16 aggressor looks flippin' awesome!

I have a question about Red Flag, please excuse my ignorance... Were these shots taken from a publicly accessible place or is it just a "lucky" few that manage to gain access to take photos?
