Anyone have the Bower version of this lens?

I have the Pro Optic (Adorama) version. From what I have read, the various versions with different brand names are identical. I think that the Bower is in this category. I think that if it looks the same, it is the same. I know that this isn't always the case, but with this lens I think it is.

Thanks. I thought that was the case. I just bought a Bower/Nikon version. It was $10 less than the Roki version. No sense wasting dough.

Opteka released a new version with a removable lens hood IIRC.

Yes, I'm kind of expecting the other brand names to do the same as time goes on. We shall see.

Anyone has a sample of what it looks like with this lens through a FF body?

Much appreciated.

Good luck finding it in-stock anywhere.

I'm glad I received one of the first (40) lenses that were released by Opteka ! :D

I recall there being an image on here some pages ago with this lens on a FF body. You will have significant vignetting in your photo and it will look circular. You will probably have to cop your image in order to avoid seeing the vignette and/or lens hood. This lens is designed more for crop body applications but, if you're looking for a great circular fish-eye, this is the one!

I will take a photo with a FF body once I get my lens back from a colleague (probably next week). It's just not worth it - hood is in the way so no real circular FE shots. Unless of course you want to "shave" it, to remove the hood. There are better options for a FF body IMHO.

I was curious too and I tried it out awhile ago. I didn't like it at all. This is your field of view on a full frame camera.
