Wow, it is actually the teeniest bit bigger than the 24-70 L II.... But fortunately both are much smaller than the older 24-70 L.

K6AZ Cream of the Crop ![]() More info | Apr 05, 2012 10:19 | #649 Well, my prediction of the price was off by $100. This lens better be as good as the 24-70 I or I don't think they will sell many.

Apr 05, 2012 10:36 | #651 Been holding out for a 24-70 variant and this looks pretty good. I have a very basic understanding of mtf, but looks like to me a little better than mk I and a little worse than mk II in the periphery. They sure did price this very very competitively, especially with the VC. If real world pics pan out, looks like I will be getting my first Tamron lens 6dII/1dIII|Bronica Sq-Ai/EOS 3/A1

Can someone summarize the results of the MTF charts?

Given that this lens and the Canon 24-70 L II are both coming out this month I would just return that lens anyway. In 4 weeks, once we all know more about both these two new 24-70's, you will either want this Tamron new or there will be a glut of used 24-70 L's on the market as people trade up to the II and you can grab a used one in excellent condition for considerably less than $1329. 5D3 | Rokinon 14 f/2.8 | 16-35L II | TS-E 24L | Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 | Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 | Voigtlander 40 f/2.0 | Σ 50 f/1.4 | MP-E 65 | 70-200 2.8L IS II | Σ 85 f/1.4 | Zeiss 100 f/2 | Σ 120-300 f/2.8 OS | 580 EX II | 430 EX II | Fuji X10 | OM-D E-M5 | http://www.mikehjphoto.com/
