While searching for weather protection for my gear yesterday (6 inches of snow coming and a football game to shoot) I had opportunity to visit all three major stores in Calgary. One told my that Canon has called for a CPS count on 1Dx orders (meaning to them delivery is very soon), one told me they have been told delivery in April, and the third still thinks June. Fingers crossed for middle shop as they now have my pre-order.

(decided on the think-tank 300-600 V2 btw, worked perfectly)

Is the cps priority only in Canada? When I pre-ordered from adorama I wasn't asked for my account number?

It sounds like it's a priority to the store's allocation but not necessarily to the customers themselves.

Either way, it doesn't seem to be the case in the US.

I'm not CPS, so do not know for sure either.

The place where I'm getting mine doesn't care if I am or not, I still get very high priority

As far as I've been able to tell, there's no connection between CPS and Adorama or B&H where they could even determine that for preorders. I'm a CPS member and emailed to ask about that, and they never even replied to my email!

What did you use to open these files? My copy DPP (latest I can find on Canon's site) nor my Capture One supports the file, yet?

I used LR4.1 RC to open the raw files. Camera raw beta 6.7 should open them also.

this guy also does a hands on review of the 1DX but he's not the best post processor I've ever seen, he's really heavy handed with NR in his other samples which is why I left the rest of the article out....
