Nigerian Wedding : Ike + Laurie

Some close friends got married recently, and was honored to make the pick. At first I thought it was because "hey you're our friend, we'll give you the business" but after delivering the images and seeing their excitement I felt like I did a good job.

Figured I'd share, because I always like learning to see what other people do, would do, and have done. C&C welcome

as always, it's hard to cram an entire wedding into 8 shots, but i'll do my best on some of my favorites.

1. the dress

My critique:
1: I'm cool with the on-axis flash (helps with the symmetry) and the texture definitely maintained in the dress. I might have gelled the flash on this one. I'd also have cropped the bottom to make the shot a little cleaner
2: Don't mind the comp. though it feels a little 'tilty' to me.
4: you're right about the tilt ! Good moment nonetheless, though.
5: get closer
7: Too tilty for a formal, I'd say. And the time for formals is the time when you as the photographer can have major control over things such as the background.

Overall: I'd like to see tilt used way more sparingly--like when there's some aesthetic goal associated with it. Decent exposures + color balance on almost all of the images (4,8 may be off CB wise).

Love it. I'm Nigerian, and though we didn't dress in the traditional gear when we got married, I just showed my wife these (she's German), and she enjoyed the sight.

this was actually natural light, but i hear ya on the crop

Cool. I clicked this because my old room mate is from Nigeria, and his brother's name is Ike. I came to see if it was him ... Cool shots! You did good.

Great shots looks like the couple are very happy.
