I have the 50mm and 85mm. Would you suggest a 24mm?

Ya, walk around street photography. Portraits. Product/still photography. Don't need a telephoto. But the 70-200 is on my list. D800 | Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art | Nikkor 85mm 1.8G | Nikkor 70-200 2.8G

Lost in thought EF 135/2 at f2.0. EOS 5D Mark II at ISO 6400, 1/200 shutter speed, handheld, avail. light. Paws EF 135/2 at f5.6. EOS 5D Mark II at ISO 6400, 1/25 shutter speed, handheld, available light. I also really like the 20/2.8. I'm not all that impressed with the choice of 24mm... wish Canon would make one that's in between what they offer... say a 24/2 USM... They have the 24/1.4L II (bigger, pricier), new 24/2.8 IS (pricey, I don't need IS, would rather have a bit more speed), and 24/2.8 (nicer price, but not USM and only a notch or two above their most basic "kit" lens build). There are any third party 24mm that impress me all that much, either. So, I use Canon 28/1.8 (very compact, even with the matched lens hood... and it has USM), but also have 24mm covered with zoom (24-70/2.8) and TS-E 24/3.5. The 35/1.4L is on my short list, but I haven't been able to justify buying it yet. It's among my favorite focal lengths on FF though. I'd probably leave my 50/1.4 at home or sell it, if I had the 35/1.4... except I still shoot with crop cameras too, and the 50mm gets a lot of use on those. Alan Myers

They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I said I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard! - Fallout New Vegas

Though I don't think your 35mm f1.8G will work very well with a FX body unless you don't mind shooting in the DX mode. You should definite add the famous 14-24 f2.8G. It's a great lens even on a Canon body ![]() Everything that I have DX is on the way out. D800 | Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art | Nikkor 85mm 1.8G | Nikkor 70-200 2.8G

Along with this highly rated, much loved lens, I'll also mention a lens that is either hated or totally ignored by everyone... the 28mm 2.8. This is a lens that is sharpest wide open, great center sharpness. I started using it on my 5D recently and forgot how good it was.

I shoot with 24-70, 35L, Sigma 50, 85 1.8, 135L, 200L, 70-200 mkii. I can't justify the heavy slow 85L. I borrow it from a friend from time to time but never find that my 1.8 is lacking.
