WOW just got this lens in today and upon initial observations its pretty darn sharp. It's better than the Canon 24-105L easily that's for sure.

Is it really?

I have just underwent lots of lens changing, since getting the 5D II and 'kit lens'. Got rid of the 28mm f/1.8 and just sold the 85mm f/1.8. I am thinking of selling the 50mm f/1.4 and getting this lens, having a 'perfect trio' for what works for me....

I think so. At least that's my first impressions. I never really Felt the 24-105L deserved the "L" category and price tag.

This lens just came in the mail today and I used it for my 365 photo today, one of my kitties turns 7 today. So far (inside anyway) seems like a great lens to me! :D

It depends on light and aperture. Check on-line reviews.
IMO, it seems to be manageable.

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing at F-2.8 @ 28mm it's pretty noticeable...still looks like a nice lens for portraits. I think this may be my next purchase...or the 100mm 2.8 macro, decisions decisions!

That's pretty cool...:D Is is a long exposure shot, or were the subjects Photoshopped in?
