bought a 70-200mm 2.8 non-is from a user on FredMiranda.com for $1060. I've had it for nearly two years now and the value is the same or more than I paid for it. I'd say that's a pretty awesome deal! Also the 10-22mm I got off of here from another user for $660. It was immaculate and has held it's value well (until I just broke it). But its fixed again now.

Those are pretty standard prices for those lenses (used) even several years ago, but as long as you're happy... :)

Picked up this Olympus 50/1.8 with a layer of fungus for $2...I had to see how the fungus would affect IQ in bright light and at wider apertures...shots taken with the lens pushed against the 30D without an adapter...

Hi this story is about tripods so please forgive me.......about a year ago while driving to work I spotted a set of legs sticking out of a skip I stopped and asked the builder who was filling the skip could I have them and he replied of course their only headed for the land fill anyways.........from that skip I got 2x manfroto video legs+fluid heads 1x schatler video 10 legs+head 1x Gitzo G410 legs+head and 1x linhoff large telescopic field camera tripod legs+head.
The builder told me the house had been an old studio long since used and vacant.
That was a good day!:)

I picked up a 28mm 2.8 for $160 in almost new condition. I then made the mistake of selling it not long after for $40 more. It was super sharp and I wish I had kept it.

When I first got my XT a long while back, I got a 75-300mm for $20. Yeah, the lens is not great, but at the time I was thrilled, and compared to the retail at the time, it was a complete steal!

I also got my 70-200 2.8 and 20-35 2.8 together for $850. That was a great day!

$20 for a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, and it had an Xsi attached to it! A college kid had an Xsi kit that his parents bought him for a class he was taking. He finished the class and wanted to sell it for some vacation party money. It was 4 months old. He wanted $120, his buddy wanted my kickboxing bag. Sold the bag for $100, threw in a $20 and left with the kit. (Hope they weren't business majors). Sold the kit for $500. Took the $500 plus $49 and a broken 35 mm and got a T3i through the CLP. I calculate that I have a nice T3i for $69. My math might be off - I was an art major.
