Just ordered a second 50D to replace my 40D backup camera. Got a refurb from Canon for total of $618.96 with tax. If anyone is interested, here is the 20% off coupon code and another for free shipping... http://www.the-digital-picture.com/News/ (external link)

The 60D was available refurbished for just a small amount more. I intentionally picked another 50D to get MA, faster frame rate, magnesium construction, joystick controller, CF memory, battery compatibility, etc. To better it would require an expensive jump to the 7D and I shoot few exposures that require servo AF. The 40/50D have served me well on servo AF shots in the past anyway. I dig the 50D. Its a great camera.

Amen haha, I'm more disappointed with the 60D then I was when I tried Sony DSLR's. I sent it back and now I have a 7D on the way.

Whoa... the refurb 50Ds are already out of stock again. Glad I jumped on that deal without delay.

I like the backlighting a lot! the main light is a bit contrasty with a deep shadow right under the nose and eyes, but again if that's what you were going for then that is good!

Pretty damn good for the first time out!

I had a good friend holding my b800 w/socked bd he was holding it too high the back lighting was a gelled vivitar 285hv we were going from spot to spot with a limited time window. I had a little more then an hour to shoot my mind was racing lol.

Thanks Luke its hard to get people to shoot when starting out Im sure you know how it is. I pmd you with a question:)
