The newly upgraded 40D provided the fast(er) AF

Shot on a Canon 40D + Sigma 150-500 combo

Ended up using very high ISO and resulted in a lotta noise around the eyes, hope to do better next time round.

How the heck do you guys get these? The dragons here fly so fast that catching them in flight and in focus is an impossibility.

All dragonflies tend to hover for that fraction-to-a second and generally have a pattern to it. Tracking them closely and waiting for that exact moment - one can get lucky :)
