I sent my 1D2N off to Canon service in the UK last week and it came back with more things broke on it then when I sent it for repair :) Although at least one of the shutter release buttons work now so I can actually use it to take shots again.

I just got my 1DII today, its at a 90k shutter count, looks worn, but hopefully It's 100% functional, which I will test once the battery charges. I got it for ~$400 so I'm fine with the condition.

I found ~500 photos on the CF card it came with, some look like wedding photos. Is there any way I could find who the owner is and send him/her their photos? I would hate to lose 500 photos, even more so wedding photos.

Edit: I should mention I bought it off ebay, and a few days after buying I found out that it was being sold by a pawn shop.

I would email the seller and tell them what you found, they should have records of who they got it from. You are right to do the right thing and return the photos to it's rightful owner.

Sent mine in recently to be fixed through KEH for what I thought was a blown shutter (they ended up sending it to Canon for another problem that the shutter replacement didn't seem to fix) and it came back working great minus one big annoyance, the click wheel on the back of the camera is sticking big time now making it difficult to turn/scroll through photos.

Anyone else ever have this wheel stick? and if so, what did you do to fix it? It feels like getting some sort of lubricant in there would do the trick but I'm somewhat worried about doing that. I may just try to send it back in but with upcoming shoots, not the greatest timing and supposedly Canon did a full clean and check up on the camera to bring it to factory spec. If that's factory spec, there are problems.

My second body was doing that when I bought it. I used a drop of lens cleaning solution (just one drop) and a can of compressed air, and just kept spinning the wheel. Seemed to do the trick, haven't had it stick since.

Hi

I currently shoot with a class 4 8G Sandisk SDHC memory card. Will it make any difference if I used a class 10 8G Transcend Ultimate?
