Been checking this thread out daily (no ... probably every few hours) over the last few weeks. Finally got mine through the week and managed a play with it this weekend.

Stepping up from the 50D I am mightily impressed. Love the autofocus, viewfinder and hi ISO quality ... 12800 very useable for family happy snaps and web posts.

Here is one from yesterday...

that's a sick capture! did you use a macro lens? I'm upgrading from the 50D as well so I can't wait for mine to come on Monday :) Did you have trouble adjusting from the 50D to the new menu and all the other new options?

Dago,

These shots are great! Thanks for providing some inspiration and confidence building.
I will seek out someone's dog and give it a try.

Also, links to these images are good to explain to folks at work why I am so excited by my new camera.

Thanks again.

Yes Dago...I agree....tried it with Harry this afternoon...also good results. That AF is so far improved from the Mk2...amazing!

Here are a couple from the sequence...several frames apart but still tracking. Shot with EF 300 F4.

I sleep for 8 hours, wake up, and find 15-20 more great shots!

Great work, people. I'm impressed! If it wasn't fun using the 5D3, I'd probably just hire one of y'all to take pictures for me! :)
