I am thinking of buying a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 to use with my Canon 60D. I was just wondering if anyone has an opinion on this lens or the setup I will be running? I would hate to buy this lens and have issues with it and the camera or it not being sharp in focus. I want something more than the 18-55mm kit lens to shoot with.

How about the Sigma 18-50 2.8 IS? I have that, and absolutely love it. Of all the lenses I have, this is the one which gets used most.

That would be the 17-50 f/2.8 OS or 18-50 f/2.8 (no OS).

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

One other lens to consider is the Canon 15-85 IS, which is incredibly sharp and covers a wider focal length range. I've been using mine for two years and love it. Just a suggestion.

The Canon 17-85 IS USM is also a great value lens. The Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 non-VC is good also.

Oops, typo! Yes, I have the 17-50 EX DG Macro (Non OS). Dont really have much need for OS on that lens to be honest.

Great buy. Got mine in Dec and is on my camera 80%.
Good for indoor and allows you a lot of room to work with this lens.
