It's korean.

Good video tho, wish he had subtitles and full res samples tho.

Also, TNG has an unboxing video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFLnYcdripU (external link)

Seems a bit silly hes only comparing it to the Nikon 24-70mm given the tamron is a canon mount, but oh wells. Should be interesting to see anyways.

He should have used a converter or at the very least borrow a 5Dc/5D2/5D3 and get some shots.

How many people listened to him talk for 5 minutes without understanding a single word lol.

I understood Canon, Tamron, lens and 'Ding Ding'

I think I heard macro in there too.

Focus seems fast. Anyone speak Korean? Did he say something about the focus ring?

my korean is just ok so I didnt get everything he was saying

from 4:23 when he says "pokus ring"

focus ring sits behind the zoom ring
mfd 38 cm
the throw a little short, less than 90 degrees, which is what he attributes to one of the reasons the focus is faster (samples 5:43 infinity to close and 6:09 mfd to 20-30 meters), thats the whole "ding ding" he keeps saying.

He should have borrowed one before doing that video which was totally useless. Well almost useless, he did do a good job of showing the gasket.

Funny enough, this lens will make it easier for those who want to switch to Nikon to do so. I have wanted to make the switch to a D3 for a long time but just could not pull the trigger because their 24-70 was so expensive and there was no strong alternative.

Just an FYI for those thinking it'll be released tomorrow: it'll be shipped to retailers (like B&H) starting tomorrow, not actually to customers tomorrow. That's according to two B&H reps.

BUT...

I did just get this email from Amazon:

We have good news! We're able to get this part of your order to you faster than we originally promised:

"Tamron SP 24-70mm Di VC USD Canon Mount AFA007C-700"
Previous estimated arrival date: May 30, 2012 - July 16, 2012
New estimated arrival date: April 30, 2012

Apologies if this is duplicated earlier but I didn't have the will to plough through 61 pages...

I'd be very interested if you could provide a user review between the Tamron and your 24-70L. :D
