Actually, he pronounces it correctly, or more correctly than Americans. It's a Japanese company. "I" is pronounced as it is in Spanish or Italian, as a very short "ee" sound. He is pronouncing it like the "i" in the word "hit", which is how it's pronounced in Chinese as well.

I am the last person that should be talking someone out of buying new gear :lol: just didn't want to see you missing your Sigma at the wide end. But if you rarely shoot wide and really want a new toy I'd say go for it :)

you're right i'll keep my sigma. because if I like the next EOS xxD, i will stay in crop. Especially if they improve more on two departments, the AF System and High ISO performance. Can't live without the articulated screen.

thanks...

Well, you're right.....

.....but "we" foreigners have taken-and-changed plenty of Japanese words, such as "sushi", "sumo", "karate", "typhoon", and now use them as if we made them up in the first place.
Even company names, like "Mazda", "Nissan" and "Toyota" are common-language outside of Japan....but pronounced "incorrectly".

So, it matters not an iota how anyone pronounces "Nikon".
:lol::lol::lol:

And back on topic, this new lens is looking like a real winner!
I'm itching to see more results, and to hear how it works out for all the people who are rushing to "be the first" to own it.

Think I'll be ordering one in the summer.....all things being equal.

Regards,

Simon (in Japan.....though I'll be ordering my lens from the USA, 'cos it works out cheaper that way!!!! :D )

My order status has been "Processing" since I placed the order 23 minutes after B&H put it on their site for preorder.

This morning it went into "Backordered" status.

Hope it comes soon!!!

Thank you for TNG

Video VC with the 5D Mk2

Exactly what I was looking for. Based on the video, the VC does it's job, and there's no noticeable noise.
