I thought you need LR 4.1RC in order to upload 5D Mk III files directly into LR. I was unable to do this with just LR4, had to download the LR 4.1 RC.

Did you forget to mention you had to convert them to DNG first before importing into LR4.0??

Regardless of raw file support for 5DIII, you want LR 4.1....if you use plugins. I spend hours on the phone with Adobe weeks ago over the mess they made with 4.0 not kicking off editors like Elements, or plugins such as Nik. This problem set may only be on Mac and not Windows. But they were embarrassed that their on LR was not kicking off Elements as a pixel editor. They say that is part of the corrections in 4.1. So I suggest everyone, with a Mac, move to 4.1. The Windows situation may be different.

There is a new RC out now so if you already have 4.1RC there is a newer version, get on it!

Oops...yes....sorry...I have LR4 and then just downloaded the free patch/add on for LR 4.1 so it accepts RAW without having to convert to DNG.

So if you already have LR4, this shouldn't be an issue for you! :)

I'm on a MAC and I have moved from LR3 to LR4 and have now tried to update LR4 to 4.1 RC1 or 2 and it wont. I have downloaded the newest Camera RAW and DNG Convertor, but Nothing will allow me to import CR2 files from my 5DIII to LR4. I spent 45 minutes in chat with Adobe and they couldn't get it to work. They somehow got disconnected adter trying to send me to third tier someone to help.

Anyways, I guess mylast resort will be uninstalling LR4 and trying to do a fresh install. neat.

Does anybody know if LR 3.6 supports the 5D3 RAW files?

That's a big negative...you will have to go the LR4 with the RC1 or RC2 update. Kind of a pain. I was totally fine with LR3.

Uninstall of 4.0 and install of 4.1 RC2 worked. Hurray. Does RC2 seem slower to those using it? It does a bit to me.

On my Hack I tried 4.0 and it would not do an editor or plugins. So I went back to 3.6 (since I don't have to import from 5DIII). I then deleted 4.0. Last week I installed 4.1 RC2 on OS 10.7.3 and everything seems to work. I have no way yet to test 5DIII imports. Maybe by the end June I can test that with my camera that is on order.
