.... people in china were scared of my "big" 5d2 lol.

I didnt have any problems with my DSLR when I was in China. They were more looking at the 6'2 guy  I got the same looks with or with out the camera :D

Now about the cumbersome, I TOTALLY AGREE!!! Trying to go through the night market with a back pack is a dumb idea.

Don't try to confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up.

Chester, are these all from the same day/shoot or do you make her shoot all the time:P?
I like the lighting, id just say watch out for background objects, I'm a big one for head in a clean spot. But I always miss it >.<

I brought the low pro flipside which was awesome, small and zipper against your back :) I must of been in the wrong areas lol I got told multiple times to put it away or leave, now in the tourists places I had no problem.

Where in China were you? In Hong Kong they couldnt care less, on a scale of 1-10 like a 2 but in beijing it was a bit more 4-5. In Guilin they were staring a bit 7-8, but never got told to go away or put it away. Dont want to get into racist stuff but are you Chinese or speak Chinese and if so what kind?

This is likely my favorite single strobe shot that I've ever taken.

While it doesn't show any true nudity, I figured I should link it instead of posting the image in here, as I don't want to offend/upset everyone. I could post it in the glamour/nude section, but the intention of most viewers in those threads seem to be less artistic/lighting-centric, and more concerned with bewbs.

Potentially NSFW: LINK (external link)

White, speak a little mandarin, enough that a can get around and survive but no where near fluent ,and was traveling w/ Chinese gf and friends at time, went to shanghai, beijing, xian ,Changsha , Jinan, and few other not main citys , in shanghai and Beijing no problems as huge tourist towns , only problem was space :P

It was not in the main business centers/tourists areas where the people weren't to thrilled about a big camera.

But in the tourist spots absolutely no problem, I haven't been to hong kong yet, I'll probably go when in Thai, I'm planning on hitting Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Burma, Malaysia and Singapore, if have time the philippines and HK. Should be fun, I might do some strobing with the YN560 xD

Don't need a full frame, 85mm f/whatever, pretty model, and nuclear strobe mounted on a radio tower with microwave reflector.

XSi kit, bare 380EX. (Just for fun, chesterjohnphoto. I really enjoy your pictures.) :)

I went with the Fluent speaking Chinese GF too. I dunno I just thought they were quite rude and pretty much had "the hell with you" Kind of attitude. I just dont get it when there is no one around, and just me and another person walking the opposite way I am has the whole street but instead bumps into me. I just didnt get it. I think their country is screwed. Only child syndrome (I am one too though haha) and they all think they are special ... Just like every one else.

SO getting off my soap box, the one normal person tells me to put it away I just A. played dumb tourist and took more pictures of them yelling at me then threw out a random "ni hao ma?" when they stopped talking B. Did not care, they are not the police. The secret police with the death penalty van thing is the only thing I was really scared of
