Strange lighting on these, but I like it. Different but very cool shots!

How close do you have to get to these things to take the pictures? And what do you do to stop them from flying off?

I would love to try my hand at macro but have no idea what type of lense or attachment to get.

Hi Al, im not sure about the exact distance, but i think its around 1 inch using my canon 50mm f1.8 and kenko extension tubes. you cannot stop them from flying off, you just have to be careful approaching and patience. have fun shooting
