Is it more the barrel + hood shape or the size of glass in relation to the length of lens that makes it sexy?

I admit, I spend quite a lot of time admiring all my glass. IMHO It depends on which angle you view it. Honestly, from the top view a Hooded 24-70L mounted on a body looks really good. On a front 3/4 profile shot, a mounted 85L looks sexy with all that glass.

I'm not too fond of looking at my hooded 35L, for some reason the shorter horizontal petals makes the hood look squeezed in. LOL.

My thoughts. White lenses with red rings!

I think the black L lenses stand out a bit more for me I glance right over to it if I see someone with one.

Hood+Lens: 135L or 200L (trying hard not to acknowledge this lens, my wallet will hate me forever)
Lens: 50L, there's a reason they use this lens for all the product shots of their camera bodies. Right?

Honorable mentions: 70-200LISII+it's matte lens hood & 85LII w/o it's bulgy lens hood.

Also, the Canon FD 85/1.2 L is my most favorite looking lens of all time. So thank you to the guy who mentioned it a few posts up.

I can comment on the best looking, but I can show you the worst looking new lens for Canon fit.

How much writing do you really need on a lens

QUOTED IMAGE

It's a cine lens. That's why there's a lot of writing on it :)

happy seeing quite a few 85L votes out there :D this really SHOULD be a poll though, it would be cool to see a better representation in chart form. Is it possible to change this thread to having a poll ? Or maybe someone could start a new one?
