Wouldn't even try via PayPal unless you know where this guy lives.

I appreciate your concern and willingness to help people, but is there really a need to warn the world-wide POTN community about a Craigslist scam in Phoenix? If we started creating threads for every scam on Craigslist alone, we'd fill the first 5 pages of this forum with the threads.

Don't get me wrong. It seems perfectly ok to warn and educate people when a specific question is asked...but there's not a need to start an individual thread for every scam out there. As a matter of fact, there are several existing threads for folks to post Craigslist scams into. You can find one of many by clicking here: CraigList Scam Alerts.

No harm no foul. I don't mind threads such as this one at all. If you don't like it, don't read it. I think it does help to remind us all to be careful, especially folks new to photography and buying/selling gear. Plus it's always good for a chuckle.

The value in posting it here is that I have found that many of the CL scams appear as multiple listings in multiple cities!
It is really a heads up for anyone looking at any CL who might see that ad.
