Looking at this:
http://www.camdapter.com …tto_neoprene_adapter.html (external link)

The design of the plate that would slide into a Manfrotto tripod head looks very similar to the Vanguard plate. Are most plates compatible? Would this work on my Vanguard head? (SBH-100)

Thanks to anyone who might know the answer!

If the plate is anything like the RC2 plates (which I assume they are), the systems are pretty different. I could be wrong but the SBH-100 looks almost like arca swiss but I can't find any listing as to what it is (seems proprietary though).

Are you looking at that specific plate for any reason? If it's to use a hand grip, you may wanna look at an arca swiss style head as there's a bunch of plates on ebay that would have the attachment point. Or going for a manfrotto head to use that camdapter.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at that system because it seems like a cheap route to go. All I want to do it have my tripod plate able to support a hand grip, and it would be nice to do it as cheap as possible!

I'll check into the arca swift stuff. My tripod is on its last legs anyways and when I invest in another system I want to do it right.
