Must have caught someone on a bad day--I traded in an old rebel film body and the rep joked about throwing it in a bucket of water.

I was off the phone in less than 5 minutes--and my return label was in my email in less than an hour.

I got great customer service--seems to be an exception to the rule now days.

Yea, Ill just play their game. I'll get some old camera, make sure it can't be repaired, and call em back. Unless I can find a good deal on a 60D here when i get my money.

Congrats. I'll admit to being a bit jealous.

Must wait...for 5D3...

what are the benefits of the 5D III that you think is worth shelling out an extra $2,000? i mean, i don't see it myself...

For me personally...with us doing 30 weddings a year...just the AF of the 5D III and the dual card slot justify the extra cost. I had a sandisk extreme IV card failed on me one time a while back and since then I told myself to never use a camera without dual card slot as my primary one.

Having said that...just ordered another 5D II....$1484.76 with tax

Well I am pleased to add a crop body to my kit through this program. Got a nice 7D today with 59 actuations, and a 85mm 1.8 to add a fast lens to my bag. Someday I will move up to the 1.2.

I'm thrilled to have a new 7D as a second body that my son can use while we shoot together, and also for when that extra reach is needed. Will be fun to try some BIF shooting with the 7D and my 400mm. Saved some good cash... Will be strange to mail in my old EOS 10S film camera... My first canon and my first EOS from a loooong way back when I was in college.

On the phone!!
Update: Finally, I was able to pick one up for $1407!

Hey guys,

is the $1407 including the tax and shipping cost?

also gotta consider the little cost of buying a broken canon p&s

Also do we need to have the broken P&S camera with us while calling to order? as they will ask for SN# off that?

$1407 doesn't include shipping or tax. That is extra.

broken canon p&s shouldn't cost more than $10...

Yeah, I mean you could really just break it yourself if you find one at a good price that isn't broken. But I'm sure it would be cheaper to buy them already broken. Give Craigslist a look, picked mine up for $15. Some people have had the serial asked for some have not. I didn't but you could always ask the seller for it just to be safe.

Also which one would you prefer? a Used 5D2 or a Refurbished one?

Probably nothing, unless something was actually broken.

A refurb could simply be any open product that could not be sold as new. It's inspected and sold as refurbished. There isn't always work that needs to be done.
