If he's trying to hire you, he's not trying to hire you because he thinks you have no future...

if I don't want to work for/with him, it's not because I think he's a nice guy!

lol...
why don't I stretch out on your couch, and I can tell you about how my father and I didn't have any type of relationship growing up... and maybe if I open up and let it all out, I'll be more than willing to work with jerks! I guess money from an @ss spends the same...

I guess I just don't see a reason to not be straight with the guy.

If I interactions with someone like that, I'd simply tell him why I didn't want to work with him. If nothing else, it would keep him from calling me...

I assume that everyone is nice until proven otherwise
one the client reaches a point where I lose respect, I have no interest in continuing any kind of working relationship - and I suspect if I don't respect my clients, they'll not want to work with me

Fully agree with this if someone does not respect me there is no reason to have any relationship with them.

You and I will probably have to agree to disagree on what's best in this case. Money is not as much of a motivator to me as it appears to be for you. Mutual respect counts for a lot, and in my case that's not for sale...

Hey thanks for crapping on my thread guys!

I put this out there so those aspiring to become an underpaid starving "artist" might get a glimpse into the real world and what their futures might hold.

Also to solicit the same from others and to throw out some opinions/options - but not to get in to a spittin match about something so completely off the (my) thread topic.

I hate to be rude...and especially on a board where I'm relatively new...but maybe I've made a mistake here.

I too apologize. The attempt to get it back on track failed. Unfortunately, it happens.
