actually, i already have one pentax k-1000 (and its the blue version too!) and i was just really looking some feedback as to how the camera perform because i feel like i'm going to use film from now on. i have to sell my dslr equipment anyway (for financial reason).

but i feel like theres something wrong with the shutter button, either its broken or something because i have to literally push it very deep with my fingernail to actually take a picture. i'm not sure. and i also want to buy some big aperture lens for this camera.

Gave a roll of 400h a try at 200.

I had those color rolls scanned at mpix.. yikes they are from around 2000-2003 anyways wow it seems like the color faded in like the two rolls (12 exp) The colors look like something from the 60's

were you standing in front of a window to capture this or is that a ghost in the picture?

Super excited. I set everything up all the darkroom equipment and everything works perfectly. The bellows are practically perfect, and the color head is a Dual Dichro S. The color head also projects white light, so I'm assuming I won't even need to work with the color settings.

The enlarger originally had a diffuser set in it, but I took it out and put in the giant lens-looking one. I honestly don't really know what it's called, but the projection was much brighter afterwards.

It also came with a 4-paneled enlarger easel to easily print with up to 4 different filters or print times on a sample sheet.

My only concern is that it only came with one lens, which is 24mm. There are boxes for two other lenses, but sadly they're both empty. Does anyone here print their own photos from 120 negatives, if so what focal length do you use?

Tony, the second frame is just gorgeous, well done! Was that the Fujinon 210mm? That was my first LF lens and it was just beautiful, I miss it.


So I've been using my Dad's old Pentax again, which was actually the camera I learned with in the very beginning, I just restored it recently and it's working great (except the meter is underexposing a bit). I was at a thrift store the other day and I found a Vivitar 28-85 f/2.8-3.8 in K-mount for $15 so I picked that up, it's made by Kiron so it should be a nice lens Going to try it with my very last roll of LP400.

Anyways, here's a few random ones from me. I'm still searching for inspiration, trying to get myself out of a creative funk.

Color is: Hexar AF on Kodak Portra 400, and B&W is: Pentax MX w/ SMC-M 50mm f/1.7 on Legacy Pro 400

Generally speaking you use the "normal" focal length for the medium. For 35mm it's 50mm, for 120 it's ~80mm (depending on the frame size).

No.. all of them look like that foggy and no contrast at all.. I would think film from 2003 would do better? It was Fuji Superia.

The magenta and yellow channels control contrast on multigrade papers. If that's what you're using (it's what I recommend) then you don't want white light. If you buy graded papers, then you can use white light.

It's a condenser. It makes it more difficult to control contrast, plus imperfections in the negatives, such as scratches and dust, will be amplified with it. I suggest you stick with the diffuser.

Hmm. 24mm. Don't think I've ever seen one of those. As a rule, here are the focal lengths of enlarging lenses for different formats:

50mm - 135 film
75mm - 6x4.5 cm
80mm - 6x6 cm
90mm - 6x7 cm
105mm - 6x9 cm
135mm - 4x5"

I hear you on the creative funk issue. It's been hard to find time to shoot, let alone time to shoot something other than simple random snaps.

everyone keeps saying the foggy cloudy film is because it was not developed long enough?
