I got my 7D with a film camera, as so with quite a few others on here also. Look through the previous posts and you will find some saying Canon does take film camera for their CLP. When it first started ppl claim only digital but I haven't heard anyone saying they got rejected for using a film camera for the program.

So I have heard some say film cameras work, some say they don't. I might be able to get my hands on an old film rebel... But before I do that, I wanna know if film would work or not guaranteed for the CLP ...or at least whats the chances of getting someone there that will take a film camera

They showed as in stock, like 4 hours ago, as refurbs on the canon direct site. I don't know how that relates to how many they use for CLP, but I've been watching them go in and out of stock, on the direct store, in a matter of hours over the last couple of weeks.

I think it is suppose to be broken. The Elan 7 is a pretty nice camera, if I were you I'd keep it since it's still working and just buy a broken one off Ebay. I got a broken sd450 off Ebay for $11.00 shipped.

Thats true. I should keep it. I've only shot a couple of rolls of film on it though. Will look into getting a broken camera.

The 5D Mark II really isn't *that* rare anymore.
I've seen it In-Stock multiple times, and I'm not even trying to get it.

This will likely spell disaster for those trying to sell theirs on the used market...

Sir, may I inquire as to why you have called me "Ryan?"
I am not he.

Sorry about that, I confused you for another member!

Did your 50D come in yet?

Monday is the anticipated time of arrival. (My brother also ordered one when I did. We grabbed the last two Canon had.)

Anyway, I will be reporting back to this thread with my initial impressions of *both* cameras when they arrive. I hope all is well.

Gah! So you can only order *one* lens and *one* speedlight with the purchase of any refurbished body?

That's so unfortunate. :-(

When I bought my refurb 5Dii a couple of weeks ago, I was allowed to purchase two lenses and a speedlight at the 20% discount rate. Unfortunately they were out of stock on the 70-200 f/2.8L II, so I had to content myself with a 17-40 f/4L and 85 1.8.
