My head is spinning after reading like 50 pages of Grip 101 and various other threads.
Here's my situation.
I have a couple Genesis 200 as well as couple Canon Speedlites. I have a whole bunch of modifiers, most I'd say in middle size range (soft boxes, umbrellas, etc.). Looking to add a Kacey BD probably with my Genesis, but might eventually get the speedlite adapter as well.
So, after much research, I think I've narrowed down to:
Probably go with the turtle base, although I doubt it'll ever leave the house, but just in case, just a few bucks more.
Now for the questions. Help me understand. Can I attach a Genesis or Speedlite on a Flash Zebra umbrella mount to the grip arm end? Or do I need an adapter of some sort.
I saw a few posts about baby pins and what not to allow more clearance or movement, but then I saw conflicting reports about not working well with Elinchrome (aka Genesis) mounts.
Also, does the baby pin fit on the grip arm, or do you need another head to mount?
The other option is to go with the CHeetah C stand set up which has 5/8 on both ends of the arm and is about $75 cheaper. Maybe not as great as an avenger, but probably good enough for my gear (or maybe not, you let me know). And not sure what or if I can get adapters/baby pins to have the same movement.
Most likely use is going to be the Kacey BD and maybe an occasional mid sized soft box.
thanks for the help.
