Im not sure why you would want to shoot in Av mode... If your advanced enough to be processing HDR photos, you should be advanced enough to shoot in Manual so you have total control... Just my .02

true, i shoot in Manual too. however, its easier for beginners in HDR to go with Av first as I was responding to a photo with different aperture values.

This is a sharing thread, there are lots of other threads where you can discuss why manual is the only mode used by real photographers and how everyone else is a wuss!

usually you would want to bracket photos with a fixed aperture so you wont have depth of field issues.

for example: many hdr photographers would take a landscape at f11 in Av mode that way the only value that changes is the shutter speed. depth of field will remain constant.

i didnt take these two shots with the intention of bracketing them, i was just going through some old photos and wondered if it would come out, just to repond to others that have posted regarding setting i.e manual/AV i normally shoot my pics in manual and as for HDR my camera doest have the "bracketing" facility in AvV mode like the canons (sony a200) so i have to manually alter the shutter speed, i relatively new to HDR so and deffo still learning

Sorry, wasnt trying to start a dispute... My apologies for heading off topic...

Anyways, back to the topic at hand...

3 Image HDR blended manually and processed with LR4, CS5, and Nik....

Curecanti National Recreation Area...

Curecanti National Recreation Area is a series of three reservoirs along the once wild Gunnison River. The reservoirs that make up Curecanti today are a destination for water-based recreation high in the Rocky Mountains. Best known for salmon and trout fishing, Curecanti also offers opportunities for hiking, boating, camping, and bird watching.

Thanks bro! I love Colorado!!! I really want to move out there for sure!!! Here is a shot from Colorado that I processed with Photomatix 4.2. In comparison the shot above was not processed at all with photomatix... With the technique that I use, I think the difference is negligible...

6 exposures processed with LR4, Photomatix, CS5, and Nik...

I like the foreground and the mountains, but the clouds just above the mountains look a tad bit dark.

Here's a moss-covered shack in the woods not far from my New England home. I like the way it conveys the greenery of the forest.
