Nice I'm going to have to do that soon then...

Stars need to align for the body, lens, and flash that you want are in stock. ;)

As reported earlier, my brother and I both purchased refurbished 50D units.

Here is what we have discovered.

50D #1

1409 clicks.
Light scratching on the top LCD.
Body looks fine. Maybe a featherlight scratch near the shutter button.
Viewfinder is perfect. No specks.

50D #2

9936 clicks. (Ouch.)
Light scratching on the top LCD. (However, it isn't as bad as the first camera, which is surprising.)
Body is also fine. One little ding near the hotshoe flash, but it is rather hard to see.
A+ Viewfinder. No problems.

My thoughts:

The first 50D seems to be a keeper. 1.4% usage is low, and for a camera that its going on four years of age, this seems to be a fair proposition. The other 50D has quite a bit more mileage. It may be returned or sold.

You are not kidding. I waited weeks for there to be a lens I was interested in in stock, and then it all came together just when we were getting to the point where I needed to be ordering to have it for the things I need it for!

Has the upgraded 2 day shipping been pretty reliable, as far as being to you in two days? Or do they take a day to process, making it three days? I want to time my order, do someone will be home to receive it.

I ordered right at the shipping cutoff on Thursday. It processed and went out late on Friday, and I'll have it tomorrow.

The rep I spoke with told me 12:00 - 12:30. I was talking to her at about 11:45.

I ordered last Thursday around 5pm and its going to be here tomorrow.

Because I can't be home - I called FedEx and they are holding it tomorrow at the 24 hour Kinkos near my house so I can pick it up tomorrow after work.

If it works it beats getting home and driving to the FedEx ship location miles away....

I'd look at the general condition of the camera as well. If everything is in spotless condition and it works fine, then even 10K isn't that much on the shutter considering what you save. No need to be obsessive about tracking numbers anyway, canon only has very rough estimates, they can die right away or end up lasting twice the estimate.

Mine was 143 Clicks.

But body had some scratches and dents. I estimated 80%.

Just got hold of an old film rebel with some issues, Should be here Friday or Saturday, and the best part is, it was completely free! Offered to pay shipping at least, and they said don't worry about it :D I'm 1 step closer to getting my 60D now.

I did look at the overall body condition, and both look fantastic. I can't see any real problems with either camera. However, 10K is more than I had hoped for.
