I have an eye-fi card on order, this is going to revolutionise studio shoots for me...

eyefi to ipad.

Also got an eyepiece extender on order, hopefully the 7d and 1div one will fit, they look about the same.

All I need now is a battery grip and I am one happy camper...

The Hoodeye for the 5dMKIII is the same as the 7d and 1dMKIII. So, the eyepieces should fit, as well.

Any of ya'll order a L Plate from Kirk or RRS? I have the RRS versions on hold, but didn't know if someone actually gotten the revision RRS one. I am interested on how the fit is and there seems to be varying discussions regarding each.

Thanks. :-)

I am loving this camera...

I cannot imagine how good the 1dx is going to be, with the 5d3 being this good...

That was what I thought when I compared my 7d. :-)

Got to say I am impressed with the ability to create straight from the camera. HDR, but most of all the Multiple Shot option, something that should have been added a while back on Canon Cameras.

Silent Shutter mode is great and a fps silent mode too again a great addition.

Menu system very different too, not found a quick way though to scroll across the top of a group instead of having to go through all the pages in that group.

The feel of the body is better than the 5D MK2, a lot more solid, I always felt the 5D MK2 was a little flimsy in some cases, though to be fair it never broke.

A lot to learn, even coming from a 1D MK4 as well it is so different.
Body has great potential
Nothing special images but you got to put some up, was a bit windy, and hand held just like the Background

Sent my 5D II (and more) to Adorama. The process was easy. They received it yesterday morning. I'll probably hear from them tomorrow. If they are good for their word I'll be moving to the III. You might want to wait to see if they do as they say, with my equipment, prior to sending your camera to them. I will let you know.

I haven't read every post here, but I am thinking of trading up from the MK2 to the MK3. B&H offered $1300 in trade, and Adorama offered $1300-1500, depending on evaluation. My Mk2 has 54oo shutter actuations, and is in excellent condition.

Any thoughts on this used value? I'm sure I might get a bit more if offered privately, but I'd like the convenience of getting it all done at once.

Thoughts??

A bunch of images taken tonight while walking though the city. The runners I only just got thanks to the new, fast and accurate AF of the MkIII :)

That seems low, you should be able to easily get more than that selling it privately. Keep in mind credit card fees and seller fees it may not be much more, but when I was looking at them $1,800 was the going price. Looks like $1,759 is the going rate on Amazon for used, so if you price it a dollar less, you likely sell it pretty quick. That will give you $1,615 or so after all fees.

I sold my 7D in no time on Amazon, and I sell about 50 things a year on Amazon. Their fees are steep but you are marketed for free against new products, so it's easy to sell stuff.

Unfortunately the waterfall was down this road. Seeing as how I scrape coming out of driveways, I wasn't taking my ES350 down there and have it get stuck. Oh well, looks like I rent an SUV next time I come up.

Admittedly not my best shot, but this is the first time I've ever gotten any images of two squirrels acting, well, "squirrelly"...
