This weekend the woman and i decided to take her wrx out for a drive. I wanted to take some action shots of the car. she told me that she has never taken a panning shot before. So i gave her a quick lesson and went off to mob the car back and forth down the road. I think her first attempt turned out pretty well

Is that good or bad? lol

I set the camera up for her after playing with it for a few min, so im open for any advise.

She took a handful more, most were blurry from not panning at right speed or weird composition.

1/50 is neither good or bad, but it's bloody hard to get a sharp shot at that speed.

Great shot! Love the colors and the setting, and the dust :) But maybe you could crop it a bit more?

Understood. So i shoulda slowed it down and then opened up the aperture a bit i take it?

ive only had limited experience shooing action shots as well. Panning shots of superbikes is hard ive found. lol

why would you change anything? she nailed it buddy.

if you wanted to keep a few more, or were shooting an event, then maybe slow it down a little to increase the keeper rate, but when you are just out trying things out, stretch the boundaries.
