First of all, if you are going out of your way to shoot these 3 players where profit is likely going to be minimal, you should provide the players parents with an order form. The orders should also be pre-paid.

I shoot team/individual sports, everything is pre-paid up front...have never had an issue with parents on this. Good luck.

yeah, she just emailed me a loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggg tome about all the issues with scheduling and games and family trips etc etc etc

I told her that I'm not gonna shoot, the best I could offer is to loan her a 20 ft sync cable and stand to get her flash off of her camera and a few pointers on how to set it all up.

let he take it (and all of the headaches!) from here.

THX!

shoot 'em with one of those disposables. when your done, hand it to her and tell her Walmart will process these for you.

ROFLMAO!!!! As Larry The Cable Guy would say, "I don't care who you are, that's funny right there" (add vocal accent).

So this morning she texts me saying, "hey. We told the team that the photos will be taken on Friday, see you there! "

Sounds like someone wrote a check expecting YOU to cash it.

What I would do is simply let Friday come and go. Do nothing. If a team 'mom' signed you up for something, let HER explain to the rest of the team parents why she isn't coming through with a photographer.

What a dolt!

To the OP - man is that woman rude. Just ignoring your email and trying to guilt you into shooting by saying she has set it up. What a ****.

Tell her you will shoot the 3 kids for free if you charged $500 for each of the other kids on the team (1 individual & 1 team photo only) .

But in seriousness I like the idea of trying to contact the original photog.

Well, I gave her a quick lesson and a card with Camera and flash settings and sent her on her way.... Got this email from her

" I have fired myself as wanna-be photographer. The sun was brutal and a lot of the pics are washed out and/or have sun glare that I did not notice while looking at the pic on the camera. I was trying to make adjustments, but did not succeed on most. Got one good one of the team... "

I guess she gets what she paid for!

Two fold - crappy results and a lesson on the value of your services!!

Now just watch out that the result doesn't get twisted around to throw the blame on you - "we had a photographer lined up but he backed out without warning at the last minute......"

+1 what a piece of work she is, too over the top. I would not be showing up on Friday.

I ended up doing smugmug cause I got tired of parents asking for CDs and "all the pics of my kid". Funny how no one would order when I left the pricing with no markup. Then decided to create a price list and have had a few hundred dollars just the past weekend...

She probably taked to the original photog and he wouldn't come back out just to shoot the kids that didn't show without another fee so she figured you would do her a favor. Good move on making her do it herself....
