It almost looks that way from the photo! nope - you're looking at the shutter curtains (and they should be either all the way up, or all the way down...) some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

ChopperAl Senior Member  More info | May 15, 2012 19:29 | #7 I had the same thing happen on a 10D. Apparently this was a common problem and had to do with the pivot point for the mirror. Found a tutorial on how to fix it and did it myself. Not saying that the 5D is having the same problem though, but it looks like the mirror is not raising up all the way.

The bottom half is covered by the stuck shutter curtain. some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Hi just update the result of my faulty 5D. sent to Canon centre in China. replaced shutter unit for about 155 USD. working well now. thanks a lot for your help and reply.
