Had the opportunity and privilege of shooting with pro tennis player Maria Sanchez the other day and put together this little composite. Hope you like it.

Feels cramped with bits and pieces cut off in the first three frames.

A triptych would give each frame more breathing room.

Exposure looks pretty good but your back/key light at camera right is a tad hot. It's causing blow out holes on her left cheek in 1 and 2.

Thanks for the feedback! Agreed a triptych would have given more breathing room but I really wanted to get all the different poses in at the cost of cutting off parts. The one that bothers me the most is the middle one, so I may go back and see if I can find another shot where her arm isn't so extended.

Also good catch on the backlight (I had two to light both left and right from the rear). Because the light positions didn't change, and I wanted to get some light on the back of her head as well, it's less flattering when her head is positioned a certain way, as in shots 1 and 2. I may try and do some cloning to try and eliminate those hotspots.

You might try a six pack with a triptych over a triptych...

Sorry to be negative, I usually don't post negative comments, but this just looks fake, looks like photo shoot. I would like to see real expressions. There is no emotions in the pics. I hope you take this positive.

I agree. I would rather see it for real and not in a studio. It's obvious she's going through the motions and it isn't a real serve. I applaud the effort though.

Well, I don't see how can some posters can say this is "nice." I know nothing about tennis. The first thing that came to my mind was that why body parts got chopped off? What is the purpose of this shoot? This isn't an actual shoot of a tennis match. It is a studio shoot. Why is she posing the way she does?

What effort? Or whose effort? The pro player or the OP trying to capture something powerful from a staged pose???

Yes, continuing off the previous comment, this was obviously done in studio; she has shots on the tennis court, but that wasn't the purpose of the shoot. The purpose was to give her some experience with shooting in a studio setting (she had none) and to put together some images that could be used for possible future endorsements (these were not them). So yes it looks staged, but couple the fact that she couldn't serve for real (sending tennis balls flying through a studio with strobes at 90+ mph is generally not a good idea) and she was being asked to do something she's not used to (be in a photoshoot), I think she did pretty well and I too applaud her effort!
