Great job! I'm still beginning too, so take my comments for what they're worth. ;)

Pic 1 is a little dark, and you can't really see what the players look like. Pics 3 & 5 seem like they could be cropped a little tighter.

Nice shots though!

Thank you :) I haven't cropped any of these. I'll post ones that are cropped a bit later today.

Actually it's Santa Clara University stadium. The new Earthquakes stadium will be completed in 2013

no, no assignment. just bought a ticket and tried to get as close to action as possible.
I love soccer and I love photography so its a perfect combo :)
I got my camera not too long ago and my new lens just couple days ago, so it was a good place to test it out

No hassles at all. They made me open my camera bag, checked what's inside, said "enjoy the game" and that was it

Why, is the a rule against bringing lenses inside MLS games? Im new at this so I have no idea

Typically they use the ID card rule, where if the length of the lens is longer than the length of an ID card they will not let it in.

LOL, looks like our local NASL stadium. And to make things worse, it's actually a practice field for the football team so there are yard markings!

Not bad for your first time out - the sun looks really harsh, which doesn't help either. :)
