The camera is in good condition apart from very slight damage on the bottom corner of the body. The current owner has had no problems with this camera. However, I already own a 7d and it's a fantastic camera for the sports photography I do. I have always wanted a 1d body, but this 1D MK2, that I'm looking at, is all I can afford right now. So, how does the 1D MK2 (8mp) measure up to the 7d (18mp) when it comes to sports photography. Would I be taking a step backwards compared to the 7d? Or would the results be equal or maybe even better? Thank you in advance! I would strongly suggest a IIn versus a II for a number of reasons the .5 inch larger screen being the biggest. It does make a difference. The IIn bodies have more options and ways to configure hence more complex. However I still think the II series AF is much better than the 7D, 45 points in AI servo versus 19 on the 7D, no comparison. At the prices I see the IIn bodies being basically given away for now its a no brainer if you are adding a 2nd body just for sports. Samsung NX1, NX 500, 16-50S, 50-150S, 12-24mm, 45 1.8

IQ is actually an improvement in my opinion, I REALLY hate 1.6x sensors colour reproduction and bokeh or blur in general. Functionality is absolutely BALLS compared to 7D, and that will be your most significant difference you will notice. Two button functions are brutal and inefficient, the LCD screen is brutal, and the menus are pretty garbage as well. With all that being said, I would personally take the 1DmkII over 7D any day because of this reason. If you know exactly what your doing when it comes to exposure, and don't need a 3" screen to be able to tell what your image looks like, get the 1DmkII as you will in my opinion prefer IQ. If you are generally someone who likes all the fancy creature comforts of the 7D....well you'll hate the 1D. In the end the burst rate is the same, IQ is improved, and functionality/user comfort is decreased (Although I find the actually ergonomics of the 1D much nicer even compared to my old gripped 7D) I guess that turned into a beyond coles notes explanation, but take it how you will, and always with a grain of salt as what it comes down to the end of the day is the preference of your shooting abilities. TWOLITRE - Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions. This is the information I was looking for.

I have uninstalled all the Canon software and reinstalled it. I then went to Canon USA and installed each update (restarting my computer each time when requested - this took quite a while!!) I connected my camera by firewire as per the software instruction disc. The computer made the acknowledgement sound and the icon appeared in the camera and scanners window. When I clicked on the icon the dialogue box said that "The computer cannot detect ... " I then went via All programmes to the Camera window only to be told "Cannot detect camera". I have rechecked the connection which must be ok as the 1D2 icon is there. Image hosted by forum (596355) © Arte Automobilistica [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Also, the 1d2 only have drivers for 32 bit operating systems. On your camera, be sure you have PC connection mode selected and not PTP/Printer. I need to stay out of the buy/sell forum. It's burning a hole in the wallet...
