Adorama Sells Used Scratched Up Camera as New_ Very Disappointed

I really liked my 5D3 and decided to sell a bunch of stuff to get enough money to buy another 5D3.

Just got the delievery today, opened the brown box and surprised to see the camera box was pretty messed up already:

Best if you get in contact with them ASAP and get it sorted.

Probably somehwere something got messed up. Adorama is a very reputable dealer, I have never had anything but excellent service from them. I am sure they will take care of it.

You are clearly not a photographer.

I'm a photographer and I want my 'purchased new' equipment to be new. Otherwise I'd pay less.

Its a mistake and they will own up to it. Even if they sent it on purpose, as soon as you complain, they will send you a new one at no additional charge and just have you send that one back.

Is this post just to vent, or to shame the retailer?

If the former you should have thought longer before you clicked post.
If the latter, what are you hoping to gain?

Totally agree with you on this one. I'd be livid. New is new...period. How are you supposed to know what this camera has been through. You do not sell something as new that clearly isn't.

Would be curious to know how many shutter actuations are already on this camera.

It is a big hassle for you ans a big disappointment...but as others have said Adorama will "make it right"...and maybe throw in a free battery grip for your inconveinence??

I participated in a post like this the other day. A poster taking a lens with a 30 day refund policy, took a lens back to take another out and got caught out returning a marked lens.
This is the result of fickle people trying out equipment then returning it. As I stated at the time I didn't agree with this policy. Refunds should be for damaged/faulty goods only. This post is a clear example of what happens to those 'returned as new' products.

Lyttleviet is right, they will sort it out for you but, I suspect this is more 'policy' than error.

I have only had wonderful experiences with them
nor have I ever had a problem that had to be rectified
and with that said....anything that has ever come up here has been well taken care of

Well, I guess those returned goods are gonna go somewhere, though I'd call them, they'd sort it out.

They had a buy back program back in the 80's. I had sent them a Celestron Comet catcher and a SP- mount and they wanted to pay me $80 for the whole setup. What a rip off.
