I'm upgrading from my 450D to a 7D using the Loyalty Program. A friend donated an old powershot he hasn't used in years to my cause, but it's not broken, and he didn't give me a battery. So if the camera were somehow to make its way into a bucket of water, I have no way of knowing if it's really broken. Suggestions?

They didn't even ask me what was wrong with my camera. They just asked for the model and serial number. I doubt they check since they recycle the cameras.

Yeah, I went ahead and placed my order, and it sounds like they just have you ship it straight to the disposal facility. Guess I don't have to worry about it.

It was the same nearly two years ago when I got my 7D through the CLP. It depends which CSR person you get regarding the questions they ask.

Just called (22 May '12 at 7:32 central), and out of stock 5D2 :( Rep was nice enough and took my info for hopefully a phone call when more come in - I just hope I can actually GET the call, as I work in a building without reception and I didn't want to give a work number (military).

Also said 24-105 was in stock for CLP, about "half a dozen."

Also, interestingly, said one could purchase "multiple lenses" with a camera body. I'm not sure if he meant there are multiple to choose from, or that one body could mean more than one lens bought.

So yeah, I'm looking to switch back to Canon (currently running an A77). Not to fault the Sony, but I'm missing FF DoF control and Canon's LV implementation is better IMO than Nikon's (and frankly so is their lens lineup).

Here's to getting lucky, hopefully soon ;)

Fedex just handed me my T2i kit and NiftyFifty from CLP. Totally painless process on the phone and wasn't sent to techs for broken camera diagnosis. Just jumped into pricing and availability from the beginning.

T2i body looks brand new, EOSCount says 1845. $565.62 (w/GA tax) for the two items. Very happy!
