How many people would really go for the Canon when the Tamron is a so much more attractive option?

You can put me in the Canon camp, as the new Tamron has vinetting issues.

As a matter of fact, I've had a 24-70 II on pre-order since the week of announcement.

I wouldn't do that if I were you.. the lens you have now is one of the best lens of canon for that range. plus it's far way more better when it comes to quality compare to tamron.. L lens is a special glass, dont waste it

Im not giving it up any time soon. Im merely thinking of ideas at this point, dont have any budget for new gear. I want to go to the store and try out the new Tamron to see how it handles.

I picked up a Mk I at the end of February, and about fell out of my chair when I saw the prices lately... if anybody wants to make me an offer, go for it... it's got about 500 pictures on it.

I just swapped my 24-70 for a 35L and $100 cash. I hope I did ok. I've just been wanting faster than 2.8, and 24-70 doesn't seem to be much range on a full frame.

Ever changing.

I am guessing that currency fluctuations might be partially the culprit...
