Hello everyone. I took some time off to rethink my photography as I was real unhappy with what I was doing and the results I was getting. So I went back to basics and changed my routine. Here are a few of the images I made last week that I am pleased with.

I have some catching up to do and I will. Give me a bit of time to do so?

Thank you for looking.

1. Crow

EDIT: strange things happening here. The link to the image was broken and the Gold Cup disappeared, but in my gallery the thumbnail is still there together with the Gold Cup. It is also still in The Best of Gallery. Puzzling stuff this...

2. Moorhen

4. Grey Heron. A pre-dawn image. Gorgeous light. Uncropped.

5. Something a bit different. Taken just after dawn. The damp from the water made a thick, blue mist.

Hi Levina,

Man, I love those!
My favorite's the crow, but I'm partial to them, second runner up is the rest of 'em! heheh
Really, nice work, I've missed seeing your shots too, and now that you've added more 'style' to them, we'll all miss you if you are absent again. :)

Can you please do me a favor, since I have no earthly idea what the area around where you live looks like, can you take a few shots sometimes to show us in the U.S. and anyone else that wants to see it too. I honestly don't want to impose, but it'd be interesting to see. What I see here in the Gray Heron shot is pretty danged pretty, if you ask me. Even if it's not, it'd be interesting to see.
Maybe a new thread that people could post their surroundings of their favorite place(s) they shoot could be started?
Tel me to go away if you don't feel up to it. :D:D

Anyway, really, REALLY beautiful stuff that you've gotten here, I'm not envious at all, I'm 100% jealous!:D

Great shots Levina. Hard to choose a favorite. They are all worthy of frames

Are you still shooting with the 5d primarily?
have you gone back to the 40d?
The look great. I like the Heron Portrait most. you must have been very close!

Thank you very much for your kind words, Randy. And I will do as you ask, bring my wide angle lens next time out and take some shots of my favourite locations.

Hi Jeremy! Yes, I am still shooting with the 5D. I hardly ever shoot with the 40D any more. I think I took it out once since I buying the 5D. Even when I could use the extra reach of a crop factor, I choose the 5D as I find the IQ is really a class above the 40D.
Thank you very much for your kind comment on the images. Much appreciated.

Lovely images Levina... I especially like the heron shots and am partial to that last one, the composition is quite beautiful and I am an ardent admirer of soft light. :)
I too have been away for awhile... many miles of location shoots with a fellow photographer, which makes "miles of images" to PP...

I echo what everyone already said. I would just like to add that the details on the last one was my favourite. From the yellow flowers to the morning dew.

These are wonderful captures Levina, as usual. Love 'em all but the Moorhen's stands out for me. :)
