Anyone pulled the trigger on the new Canon D20 yet? I'd love to hear some real life reviews.

Ordered it today. Hope to get it tomorrow. I'm also curious if anyone else has one yet.

Mine will be here tomorrow. Surely someone has it already and can comment?

I would think it's the same as recent canon powershort cameras. CMOS sensor good low light ...no RAW

I would love to see a few photos from the D20. I am looking to get a waterproof camera for a trip next month and right now I am looking to get the Panasonic DMC-TS4

Got mine tonight. Feels less substantial than the D10, but is definitely more pocketable.

No pictures yet, though. Maybe tomorrow. Won't be underwater, though.

I haven't laid hands on one as yet so am looking forward to seeing the images and hearing people's thoughts.

Personally, I think it's going to have to be pretty spectacular to beat the Panasonic TS3 (I'm sure the 4 is equally as good but no way would I spring for the extra $$ LOL). I am loving this little unit for both diving and snorkeling (and it's pretty good on land, too).

I'm debating pulling the trigger on the D20 right now. I already have a cheap Kodak Playsport ZX3 waterproof video camera, but it isn't the best. It has already leaked and fried the circuit board once but luckily Kodak replaced it under warranty. We are leaving for a cruise in a week and have a snorkeling excursion in the Bahamas scheduled. I am very tempted to get this so that I can actually take some decent stills of the trip (while in the water and on the sand. My T2i handles the rest)

Does the D20 have an LED light to assist with night time movies like the Lumix TS3/TS4 and the Nikon AW100? Also the quality of low light shots is important so any night shot samples would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

D20 looks like a great PowerShot but I’d go with GoPro instead.

GoPro's not that great for stills and it's a far more expensive set up for video really. I have one but never grab it.

If you don't mind, could you update this thread with your initial impressions when you get it?

Thanks!

Hi All,

Not hearing any updates, I bought one and am about 100 photos into it. I really wanted to like this camera and was looking for a rough and tumb.le camera to adventure with and not worry about

I'm very disappointed. The shots are very soft, and the indoor flash shots have very bizarre colors. It also has super long shutter lag.

I wish I could send it back, but I guess I'll just keep it for shoot the occasional underwater pic while on vacation.

My normal P&S is a G10 -- a camera that I love to hate but generally takes decent P&S shots. However, I'm infuriated with the G10-12 flaw of having the cover scratch the lens. This is a known flaw that Canon does not seem to alknowledge....

Frankly, I wouldn't waste your money on the D20.
